How does the session work?
Your family session is all about keeping things relaxed and natural. Once we’ve locked in a date, I’ll help you choose the perfect spot, whether that’s the comfort of your own home or one of Melbourne’s beautiful outdoor locations. On the day, there’s no rush, no pressure, and no awkward posing. I’ll gently guide you while letting real moments unfold, capturing all the little in-between details that make your family yours.
When will I see my family photos?
You’ll receive your full gallery within two weeks of your session — often even sooner. Your photos will be delivered in a beautiful, easy-to-use online gallery where you can download your favourites, share them with loved ones, and order prints or albums directly through the built-in print shop.

How to book your HAWTHORN Family session
Booking your session is simple and stress-free. Start by getting in touch to chat about the type of session you’d love and choose a date that works for your family.
Once your booking form is signed and your session fee is paid, you’re officially locked in as a White Salt Photography client! You’ll then receive a detailed Welcome Guide straight to your inbox, filled with everything you need to know — from how to prepare, to what to wear, and how to make the most of your photography experience.
I only take on a limited number of sessions each month to give every family my full attention, so it’s best to get in touch early to avoid disappointment.
You’re not alone — almost every family tells me this! My sessions are relaxed and playful, with gentle guidance to help you feel comfortable without ever feeling posed or stiff. Most of the time, you’ll be cuddling, chatting, or playing with your kids while I quietly capture the magic as it happens. By the end, you’ll forget the camera is even there.
What if we feel awkward?
That’s completely normal! My Melbourne family photography sessions are relaxed, playful, and child-led, so there’s no pressure for perfect behaviour. We’ll go with the flow, keep it fun, and capture genuine moments that reflect your family as you are.
what should we wear?
Lifestyle sessions include the full family. Pets are more than welcome to join in as well. These sessions are designed to capture your family in that moment in time when you welcome your new baby to the family. These sessions do not include grandparents or extended family members.
Who can be in the photos?
Your session can be at home for a cozy, relaxed vibe or outdoors at one of Melbourne’s beautiful locations. I can recommend stunning spots across Melbourne, from Brighton Beach and Williamstown to the Dandenong Ranges and Mornington Peninsula, so your photos feel natural and truly yours.
Where should we have the photos taken?
I recommend picking something that makes you feel beautiful and feels like YOU. Choosing the right out fit for your session is important and I am here to help. For your baby I recommend a neutral cotton or knitted onesie. You can check my what to wear guide here. I am always happy to talk you through any questions you might have.
What should we wear?
Trust me, you don't need to have the perfect home to have beautiful photos. I am yet to walk into a home where I couldn't find a nice spot to photograph a family. Neutral coloured bed linen and window light is all I need to create some magic for your family.
